AMOVA has successfully completed the installation and commissioning of a state-of-the-art high-bay storage system at ElvalHalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry S.A.'s plant in Oinofyta, Greece, within the scheduled timeframe of two years. The system provides ElvalHalcor with a highly efficient and cost-effective solution that will allow the company to significantly increase its storage capacity while reducing operating costs.

The new high-bay warehouse is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including automatic storage and retrieval systems, conveyor technology and warehouse management software. Thanks to energy recovery, the overall energy consumption of the system is significantly reduced, and the optimum operating mode of the storage and retrieval system ensures the highest possible throughput. The system has a height of 36 meters and can store around 360 coils. This provides ElvalHalcor with sufficient space to meet the need for storage capacity as a result of growing production. The automatic storage and retrieval systems ensure high-density storage, making optimum use of the available space. The conveyor systems and warehouse management software allow for efficient and pinpoint inventory tracking in real time.

This is the second time AMOVA's team has worked with ElvalHalcor to develop and implement an automated high-bay storage solution. The existing high-bay warehouse, which was supplied by AMOVA 20 years ago, is still working perfectly and was integrated into the overall logistics systems as part of the new project.

The successful installation and commissioning of the high-bay warehouse system represents an important milestone for both AMOVA and ElvalHalcor.
