Ethiopian Airlines' cargo terminal at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa started operations in 2017. The project included the planning of the entire terminal and the implementation of the technical equipment. The heart of the facility are two automated high-bay warehouses with space for 1,000 10-foot airfreight containers (Unit Load Devices, ULDs). Four ETVs (Elevating Transfer Vehicles) ensure the safe storage and retrieval of goods. Half of the hall complex is equipped with special refrigeration technology, which maintains the cold chain within a temperature range of 2 to 10 °C. The entire logistics process within the facility is controlled and monitored by a special warehouse management system.
