Lotte Aluminium's investment in a new plant dedicated to producing aluminum cathode foils demonstrates their commitment to innovation and sustainability. With an annual production target of 36,000 tons, these foils will be integral to the manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries for approximately four million electric vehicles. Collaborating with SMS group and AMOVA is essential to achieving this ambitious goal, as it combines advanced manufacturing capabilities with state-of-the-art logistics solutions.
Expertise in Intralogistics
AMOVA's role in this project is crucial, as Project Director Sales Markus Schneider highlights. "With over three decades of experience in high-bay storage systems, AMOVA is unparalleled in its ability to handle heavy loads of up to 50 tons. Our comprehensive intralogistics solutions include transport systems and automation to ensure the seamless integration and optimization of material flow."
High-Bay Warehouse Capabilities
The high-bay warehouse at Lotte Aluminium is a cornerstone of the plant's operations. With the capacity to store 500 coils or up to 6,000 tons of material, the warehouse features two stacker cranes that operate in a single aisle. This system provides direct access to each product, minimizing unnecessary movement and enhancing efficiency by reducing handling by 30 % to 60 %. Our integrated coil transport systems connect all handling activities and are backed by advanced automation and our proprietary warehouse management system.
Enhanced Operations Through Digital Solutions
AMOVA's warehouse management software plays a pivotal role in optimizing operations. It offers precise material tracking and real-time location updates to ensure that no product is lost and that operational efficiency is maximized. Seamlessly integrated with SMS group's Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Quality Execution System (QES), it further enhances quality control and customization throughout the plant.
